Cape Cod camping offers plenty of opportunities for year 'round
camping on the Cape and the Islands. Camp sites and camping is available
from private campgrounds from the Canal to P'town and the Islands at very
reasonable rates, supplemented by Park and Forest camping. While camping
in the summer may require reservations in advance, immediately before and
after the months of June,July and August camping choices abound. There are
also different levels of comfort and support provided at many of the Camping
spots of the Cape; from a patch of clean ground to cabins or drive your
home in and hookup.
If you plan to sleep in the town forests, its probably legal
if you can locate one (they are there but not well marked); a fire may not
be okay and the ticks, well, lets say they can be a nuisance. If you plan
to sleep on the beach, bring your checkbook for the ticket and try not to
think about being run over by a 4 wheel drive in the dark.
Don't forget, there are: private, public (like Nickerson State
Park) and very public (like forests).
